PERSONAL STATEMENT
I was born in Athens in 1977 and completed my architectural studies at University of Huddersfield in UK. When the fullness of time came to choose my potential career path, I inclined to follow architectural studies. My preference was informed by personal experiences from tours and observations of the diverse Greek townscapes and by a great degree from my father’s carpentry workshop where I was fascinated to watch him curving the wood to create lavish pieces of furniture made to go in wealthy mansions.
Having been working as a qualified architect since 2007, I have acquired knowledge and ability on client communication, project management and contract administration which are skills easily transferable across all architectural disciplines. Having several years of experience in a diverse range of projects in my portfolio, the workload varies from small scale detail design to masterplan, from educational to mixed use, and residential to regeneration developments in forthcoming economic markets. My interest covers all aspects of architectural fields including conceptual design, construction details and eco-friendly strategies employed throughout the work stages.
I am particularly enthusiastic in exploring vernacular architectural practices that stood the test of time and they can be potentially integrated into contemporary structures that interpret the 21st century philosophy of environmental preservation and energy conservation.
